I have registered but I cannot upload my film. Why?
You may upload your film once you have paid the fee at step 6 of the registration form.

Once I register my film on the registration form, when will I know if I get accepted with the Short Film Corner?
Your film will be viewed once it has been uploaded and its upload quality has been verified. You will then receive an email of confirmation for your participation to the Short Film Corner.

May I close the window while uploading my film?
No, if you close your window the film upload process will stop. However, you can come back later and resume the upload with the same film file.

What kind of computer do you use? A PC or Mac computer?
Both are compatible.

Which kind/version of system software do you use? (e.g. Windows XP/Vista/7 or OS X 10.7.3. etc.)
Every system is fine for us. (Linux as well). We recommend using Windows XP or higher/Mac OS X 10.7.3.

Are you working from a computer that is part of a company network?
If you are part of a company network, the problem may be a general firewall or port blocking system. You must then ask the system administrator of the company for specific help.

What kind of internet connection do you use?
Wi-Fi may be a problem, because of its possible connection instability.

Has the Java application been installed correctly?
You can verify the installation of the tool Do I have Java? to be found at www.java.com. If yes, then you should re-install it.

What kind of Java version do you use?
We don’t refer to Java Script but Java. Anything above version 1.4. is fine! You will find all information in our technical manual. If you have a Mac computer, click on Systemconfiguration/Java. If you have PC computer, click on Systemcontrol/Programm/Java.

Are the Java and the Java Script browser plug-in activated?
Both must be activated. You can have a look at our manual.

Which kind and version of Internet browser do you use? (e.g. Firefox, Explorer, Chrome)
Every browser is fine. We recommend Firefox at least 3.0 or higher.

Do you use any browser pop-up blocking system?
You must allow popups for the Short Film Corner website www.cannescourtmetrage.com.

Do you use any firewall protection? (e.g. ZoneAlarm, Norton Security etc.)
The user should deactivate it shortly during the upload. To know how to deactivate it, please get in touch with the software provider.

What kind of movie file do you have? (e.g. Quicktime, AVI, MPEG2, MPEG4, VOB etc.)
We recommend the following file format: .mp(e)g file format with MPEG 2 video or H.264/MPEG-4 for best quality.

Do you use PAL or NTSC resolution?
Both are compatible.

What kind of video codec did you use for encoding?
What we need can be found in the specifications (h264, uncompressed, MPEG-4 AVC, MJPEG, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 etc.).

What kind of video adjustment did you use for the digital movie file?
Information can be found in the box Specifications. (minimum resolution: 720 x 576 pixels; bitrate minimum of 2MBit/s).

What kind of audio codec did you use?
What we need, can be found in the specifications. (uncompressed, AAC, AC-3, Apple Lossless etc)

What kind of audio adjustment did you use for the digital movie file?
What we need, can be found in the specifications. (48 kHz sound, bitrate minimum 128 kBit/s)

Which video editing program (name and version) do you use?
(E.g. Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere etc.)

Did you create a multiplexed file?
We only accept multiplexed files (it means that video, audio and subtitles are in a single file).

What kind (name and version) of movie player are you using for playing your movie file at home?
The Short Film Corner player is a flash player.

Have you been disconnected from the internet?
Please verify your internet connection in order to upload your film again.

Did you select the exact same movie file for a resume function?
You may start a new upload (resume function) only if you select the exact same movie file (same name, same size, same specifications). Otherwise, the resume function cannot work.

Does your movie file have the same size and name?
The resume function only works with the same file as during the first upload try.
