    How to log on to my personal account?

    Please go to, click on TAKE PART - SUBMIT A FILM. You’ll reach the page from which you can either log in to your account or create a new one.

    I have registered but I cannot upload my film. Why?

    You’ll be able to upload your film once you have paid the fee at step 6 of the registration form.

    Once I have registered and uploaded my film, when will I know if it is accepted at the Short Film Corner?

    Your film will be viewed by the Short Film Corner team after you have checked and validated the quality of the upload. If you did not do so, please go back to your registration and watch your film online. Click 'OK' if everything looks good. If not, select one of the error options we suggest. You will then receive within a few days an email notifying your film’s acceptation or not at the Short Film Corner.

    May I close the window while uploading my film?

    No, if you close the window the film upload process will stop. However, you can come back later and resume the upload with the same film file.

    What kind of computer do you use? A PC or Mac computer?

    Both are compatible.

    Which operating system do you use?

    Any system should be fine. We recommend using higher versions.

    Are you working from a computer that is part of a company network?

    If you are part of a company network, the problem may be a general firewall or port blocking system. You must then ask the system administrator of the company for specific help.

    What kind of internet connection do you use?

    WiFi may be a problem, because of its possible instability. If necessary, use an Ethernet cable.

    Which kind of Internet browser do you use? (e.g. Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome...)

    Any browser is fine. We recommend the latest versions of Firefox or Chrome in order to use HTML 5 uploader.

    Do you use any firewall protection? (e.g. ZoneAlarm, Norton Security, etc.)

    If so, you should deactivate it shortly during the upload.

    Do you need a special browser to upload your file with HTML 5?

    All major browsers should work but we do support only Chrome & Firefox.

    For Windows users, you will need at least Windows XP SP2 (or preferably Windows Vista SP2).

    For Mac OS users, you will need at least Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, or higher.

    What kind of film do you have? (e.g. Quicktime, AVI, MPEG2, MPEG4, VOB etc.)

    We recommend the following file format: .mp(e)g file format with MPEG 2 video or H.264/MPEG-4 for best quality.

    Is your film PAL or NTSC?

    Both are compatible.

    What kind of video codec did you use for encoding?

    What we need can be found in the specifications (h264, uncompressed, MPEG-4 AVC, MJPEG, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 etc.).

    What kind of video adjustment did you use for the digital movie file?

    Information can be found in the box Specifications. (minimum resolution: 720 x 576 pixels; bitrate minimum of 2MBit/s).

    What kind of audio codec did you use?

    What we need can be found in the specifications (uncompressed, AAC, AC-3, Apple Lossless etc).

    What kind of audio adjustment did you use for the digital movie file?

    What we need can be found in the specifications (48 kHz sound, bitrate minimum 128 kBit/s).

    Did you create a multiplexed file?

    We only accept multiplexed files (it means that video, audio and subtitles are in a single file).

    What kind of film player are you using to play your short film?

    The Short Film Corner player is a flash player.

    Have you been disconnected from the internet?

    Please verify your Internet connection in order to upload your film again (if your WiFi is unstable, please use an Ethernet cable).

    Did you select the exact same film file for the Resume function?

    You may start a new upload (Resume function) only if you select the exact same movie file (same name, same size, same specifications). Otherwise, the Resume function cannot work.

    Does the upload not start immediately?

    Please select your file by pressing the ‘Browse’ button once again. Double-click on the film file or mark it and press ‘Open’. Then, after a brief moment, you should see the film being uploaded.
